eBook Guide
You can download free eBooks through the library's iDownloads collection. Items available for download include eBooks, audiobooks, music, and videos. Rossford Public Library is part of the SEO Library Consortium. The consortium has over 13,000 titles for our patrons to select from.
In addition to the iDownloads collection, you can use your library card to download titles from the Ohio eBook Project. Also Project Gutenberg provides over 15,000 free eBook titles. These eBook titles are in the public domain and will not count towards your library checkout limits.

To access the digital materials you need
- A valid library card and PIN (typically last 4 digits of your phone number)
- A computer or device that can access the digital materials
- Windows PC, Mac, iPod, iPad, Nook, Kindle, SanDisk, Sony Reader, etc
- Not all devices support all formats. Example iPods don't support WMA Music/Video files.
- Free software for the computer or device to use the materials (not required for Kindle)
- Adobe Digital Editions – Adobe eBooks (PDF, EPUB)
- Anonymous Registration – download and read on 1 computer, no eBook devices
- Adobe Id – Download to 6 computers and transfer to eBook devices
- OverDrive Media Console – Audiobooks, Video, Music, eBooks on Tablets/Phones
- Platforms: Android, Blackberry, iPhone/iPad, Mac OS, Windows, Windows Mobile
- No registration required

- Digital Cart – Up to 12 items can be in the cart. Places a temporary hold on the item. Items are automatically removed after 30 minutes if not checked out.
- A max of 10 items can be checked out at any given time.
- Lending periods vary. Can be set to 7, 14 or 21 days. Cannot renew items.
- Only Adobe and Kindle eBooks can be returned early. Items are returned automatically.
- A max of 10 items can be put on hold. You will receive an email when item is available and will be held for 3 days starting when email is sent. Holds can be cancelled.
- To find available materials you can do a search or select a category on the left side of the website. Check "Only show titles with copies available" to narrow down the results.
- Clicking on an item will bring up its item page. The page will tell you if it is checked out, give a description of the item, the formats available, similar items, user ratings and what Digital Rights are available.
- Click on "add to Digital Cart" or "Join waiting list".
- You can either continue browsing (steps 1-3) or checkout the item. Remember items only remain in your cart for 30 minutes if not checked out.
- When ready click "Proceed to Checkout"
- Select "SEO Library Consortium" from the drop down menu if login page doesn't display.
- Enter your library card number and PIN.
- You can specify different lending periods (7, 14 or 21 days) for each item or accept default period. The default is 21 days unless changed in My Digital Account->Lending Periods.
- Click "Confirm Check out"
- The item has now been checked out. Click the "Download" button to download the item to your computer or tablet. The appropriate software will be opened to download the item.
- If the item is for Kindle click "Get for Kindle". You will be redirected to Amazon.com to transfer the item to your device. Click here for a Kindle step-by-step guide.

- Once the item is downloaded you can now open it. Use Adobe Digital Editions or Overdrive Media Console to transfer the item to a non-Kindle device (Nook, Sony Reader, etc).
- To place a hold click "Join waiting list".
- You can use any email address when placing a hold on an item. Just enter it when asked.
- You have 3 days to check an item out from the time you get an email notifying you the item is available.
- To manage your digital account click "My Digital Account" tab at top of website.
- My Digital Cart - Displays the title(s) that are in your Digital Cart awaiting checkout
- Lending Periods - Set personalized default lending periods for each item format
- My Digital Bookshelf - Displays download links for title(s) currently checked out
- My Digital Holds - Displays the title(s) for which you are currently waiting to become available
- Wish List - Displays the title(s) on your Wish List
- Rated Titles - Displays the title(s) you have rated, and allows you to change rating
- Overdrive Guided Tour videos. Learn how to browse, check out, and download digital books.
